Sample Transfer Pathway

Passionate about making a difference in your community? Exploring career opportunities to address the most pressing issues of our time?  If you are interested in a career in community organizing, community development, nonprofit management, government - the Community Leadership Pathway prepares students to develop as leaders who can work toward creating transformative change within their local communities.

This pathway offers an interdisciplinary approach preparing students to become agents of change.  The Community Leadership Pathway is a concentration within the Associate of Arts degree, which prepares students for career opportunities and also serves those interested in transferring to a four-year baccalaureate institution.  The pathway empowers students through leadership development, work-based learning opportunities, and valuable career mentorship.  

This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Community Leadership. If this pathway is followed as outlined, you will earn an AA degree. Following this pathway will help you get your associate degree, which will increase your chances of transfer to Bachelor’s-level programs of study. Choose Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) courses to fulfill general education requirements whenever possible.
