Pathway

An Associate in Arts with a focus in Music is designed for students interested in pursuing basic Music general studies with the possibility of transferring to careers related to Musical Theater, Music Therapy, Music Industry, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, or a combination related to performing arts in general.  

This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Music. This pathway does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. If this pathway is followed as outlined, you will earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree. One course will satisfy the Human Diversity (HD) requirement, and is labeled with an (HD) in the sequence below. Following this pathway will help you get your associate degree, which will increase your chances of transfer to Bachelor’s-level programs of study. Speak with your college advisor for General Education course suggestions and with a Music faculty at your home college for appropriate guidance on approved electives according to your performing arts educational interests.
